Auxiliary Nursing and Midwifery (ANM) is a certificate-level course in the field of medical nursing. The duration of the ANM course varies from institute to institute. The course provides knowledge about fields of medicine, healthcare, and providing medical assistant to families, individuals, society, and measures necessary for maintaining a good quality of life.
It is a profession that is mainly involved in maternity care and assistance to new mothers during their pregnancy period and works. ANM covers a wide range of subject areas such as Microbiology, Biological Science, Anatomy, Physiology, Sociology, Fundamentals of Nursing, Behavioral Science, and First Aid. It is the right career choice for candidates who are determined and have skills like flexibility, tenacity, and observation skills which are crucial to good nursing. 

ANM Course Eligibility Criteria

  1. Minimum Qualification Required: 10+ 2 with science as a mandatory stream.
  2. Minimum Marks Required: 50%
  3. Age Requirement: The minimum age requirement is 17 years and the maximum age for the course should not be more than 35 years.

ANM Course Admission Process:

Admission for the ANM program is on the basis of candidates' performance in the common entrance exams. Few colleges also provide direct admission based on the student's marks in class 12th.

Direct Admissions:

The Direct Admission process for the ANM course is followed by a majority of colleges in India. Candidates are selected on the basis of their marks scored in the Intermediate examination. After the board results are out, the colleges will release their cut-off scores. If candidates have scored more than or equal to the cut-off scores of the intended college, they will be eligible for enrollment at that institute.
